Frost Week is over, yes. However, the events seem to be rolling in for us Mustangs! If you’re looking for things to do with your friends this weekend but don’t want to go too far (because it’s so damn cold!!!), head on over to the Mustang Lounge! On January 25th, Friends of Doctors Without Borders is hosting its annual student Talent Show! This is the largest student run talent show on campus, so it’s going to be epic. There will be a variety of Western talent that is being showcased including comedy, rap, dance, singing, and piano to say the least. It’s a night jam packed with entertainment by your fellow peers! To make it even better, the judges are some of the best UWO profs from many different faculties! If that didn’t win you over, Western’s very own Rick McGhie will be a guest judge at the event! If you’re interested, the tickets are sold for just $10 at Taylor Library from 12-4 and all the money will be donated to Doctors Without Borders to send doctors off to developing countries to provide medical relief.
Pros: Night of entertainment with your friends, you will be warm, your money directly provides medical relief.
For more information, follow Western’s Got Talent’s Instagram: @westerngottalent for updates, chances to win prizes and free tickets to the show!
If you didn’t think that was enough, on Sunday, January 27th, Western Worships is back again for the 5th time in the Mustang Lounge at 6:00 PM! Asian Christian Fellowship, Korean Christian Fellowship, and Power to Change invite us all to explore hope, redemption, faith, and acceptance despite our imperfections, insecurities, frustrations and anger. It is a student-led night of music, speakers, drama, and student’s stories.
Pros: Admission is free, who doesn’t want to hear about acceptance? You will be warm!!!
Be sure to bring your friends and check these events out!
