Counting Blessings

Every day comes with a blessed happiness of its own. While it is almost impossible to stop and remember to be thankful for every little blessing, this weekend is a time for all of us to take the time to be grateful.

I’m grateful for a comfortable home, good food and clean water. For a loving family and an incredibly supportive group of friends. I’m thankful for a stoph team that never lets me feel alone, for a close–knit floor and an amazing unit team. I’m thankful for every time a friend has noticed that I listening ear without me even asking for one. I’m thankful for my teachers and everyone who has given me the opportunity to learn, for education, knowledge and the privilege to call myself a Western Mustang.

I’m thankful for the times that I got lucky and also for the times that I had to work my butt off to get somewhere. I’m thankful for a voice that can be heard and a passion that can be pursued.

But most of all, I am thankful for my beating heart. For every breath I take, for every step that I walk. I’m thankful for the ability to laugh, and also to cry. I’m thankful for the desire to get out of bed every morning and the brightness of life’s colours around me. I’m thankful for the ability to love and be loved. I’m thankful for life, love and good company. For ambitions, dreams, and even the failures.

It’s not always easy, but it’s always been worth it. What are you thankful for?

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
