IT WAS NOT LOVELY OUT TODAY

It was not lovely out today,

The blowing snow made sure of this

And I would explain this if I may,

Just let me grab my list.

I woke up happy; a smiling whiz

My heart was filled with joy

With a giggle I thought of my chemistry quiz

I hoped to soon destroy

But as I wore my jacket thick and tall

And trotted out the door,

My daring courage took a fall

Its doom, my confidence saw.

Before I left, the thought of food

Had all the others blocked

When out-of-nowhere, to my hearts delude

I hear, “sorry, the caf’s locked”

So sad I was as I walked to class

Covered in all that snow

But as soon as I got there, oh alas!

I witnessed my pain’s plateau

My test was rescheduled due to reasons

My professor could not control

But I, for one, think it just the season

That encumbers everyone’s goal

I had to walk back to rez again,

A task that made me sad

But at least it wasn’t a freezing rain

That we in London had.

It was not lovely out today,

The blowing snow made sure of this

“Nonetheless you skipped a class,” you say

Yes, all sadness has ceased.
