Hello Western students,
Welcome back to another spectacular year at Western University!
Although clubs week is over, you can still register for clubs at any time. Here at Western, we present a plethora of clubs to select from including various volunteering clubs, breakdancing, theatre, debating, cooking, photography, juggling clubs and even surfing — that’s right, surfing! There are also numerous cultural, religious and spiritual clubs to accommodate Western’s diverse community.
So, if you didn’t get a chance to sign up for a club at Clubs Week, have no fear you can make your selections online by following the link: https://www.usc-online.ca/clubs_signup.asp
I must warn you though, as exciting as it may sound, do not sign up for 9 clubs like I did in my first year… attempting to attend to club meetings, events and non-club responsibilities was a living nightmare. I felt just like White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland — always on the run with not enough time. Ideally, you would want to commit yourself to few clubs, a maximum of 4 or 5, and establish your ties throughout your undergraduate years. I know a couple of my friends, now in their fourth year, who are presidents of clubs they joined in their first year! Set limits to the number of clubs you join and give each of them your all.
On a side note, keep an eye out for upcoming blog posts from both previous and new bloggers for the 2013-2014 year. We aim to keep you updated, informed and entertained!
